No CPF? Get one online, for free
The CPF is Brazil’s individual taxpayer number and is required for payments in the country — including here. Foreigners can request a CPF for free on the Receita Federal (Brazilian IRS) website, using a passport or residence document (CRNM). You do not need to be a resident.
Once you have a CPF, everything else is digital: account, payment and the video consultation.

What language is the consultation in?
Consultations are held in Portuguese. If you don’t speak Portuguese, you can have someone with you to help translate, or use a translation app during the video call. Portuguese and Spanish are close languages, and Spanish speakers usually communicate without difficulty.
In an emergency (chest pain, shortness of breath, stroke signs), go to a hospital or call 192 (SAMU, Brazil’s ambulance service). Telemedicine does not replace the ER.

Does it work if I’m outside Brazil?
The service is for people located in Brazil. Documents issued are valid within Brazilian territory.
What if it’s an emergency?
Telemedicine does not handle emergencies. Go to a hospital or call 192 (SAMU) for chest pain, shortness of breath, seizures or stroke signs.
